
The National Agency commissioned experts and subject representatives from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to carry out the quality audit. Swedish students were also part of the assessment team.
The quality audits covered programmes for 16 different qualifications:
Degree of Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Audiology, Graduate Diploma in Midwifery, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Degree of Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology, Degree of Master of Science in Medicine, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Optometry, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Radiology Nursing, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy, Degree of Master of Science in Medical Physics, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Graduate Diploma in Specialist Nursing, University Diploma in Dental Hygiene, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology, and Degree of Master in Biomedicine. In total, 136 programmes at 27 institutions were audited.
The results of the evaluation are presented in this report, which is published in two parts.
Part 1 (this part), The National Picture, contains the National Agency´s decisions and reflections, a description of the model for and focus of the evaluation, and the assessment team´s summaries. The national picture emerges in the summaries, with overall conclusions and recommendations.
The programmes were audited using the quality criteria that the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education normally applies in national evaluations of higher education.
This evaluation focused particularly on the results of the programmes in terms of the general objectives for higher education, and on the quality of clinical on-site training. The assessment teams have also commented on the conditions and execution of the programmes. Each description and assessment concludes with a number of recommendations to the institution in question.
Based on the assessment teams´ conclusions and recommendations, the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education calls into question 31 education programmes at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Ersta Sköndal University College, Göteborg University, Dalarna University College, Kristianstad University, University West, University College of Borås, University College of Gävle, Jönköping University Foundation, University College of Kalmar, University College of Skövde, the Karolinska Institute, Linköping University, Luleå University of Technology, Mälardalen University College, the Red Cross University College of Nursing, Umeå University, Uppsala University, Växjö University, and Örebro University.
