Equal treatment - a task assigned by the government
The government has given the National Agency for Higher Education the task of reporting on the measures adopted to foster equal treatment of individuals with functional disabilities in the area for which it is accountable.
The responsibility for ensuring that students with functional disabilities are able to study on equal terms is shared by the National Agency with other authorities, mainly the higher education institutions but also the Disability Ombudsman. With the current division of duties these authorities balance and complement each other.
The National Agency raises issues that relate particularly to students with functional disabilities in its evaluations, its supervision and its enquiries. It also works actively to make all of its information available and in adapting the Agency in various ways to those with functional disabilities.
Finally the National Agency is able to determine that it discharges its task well.
